The trailer of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ is finally out. The makers had planned a big launch event on May 21, but they suddenly cancelled it, leaving fans confused. Instead, the trailer was simply released on YouTube on Saturday without any event. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, and fans can now get their first look.
What happens in the ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ trailer
The trailer gives fans a fun and entertaining peek into the mad world of Varun’s character. It opens with him sharing sweet and loving moments with his wife, played by Mrunal Thakur. But things do not stay calm for long, as the couple soon finds themselves in court, with Mrunal’s character clearly at her wit’s end over the excessive love and attention her husband keeps showering on her. Varun’s character simply wants nothing more than to become a father. Things get even more complicated when Varun’s character meets Pooja during the divorce proceedings and falls in love with her too. In a funny twist, the man who wanted so badly to become a father ends up becoming the father of children from both Mrunal and Pooja’s characters, making his life even more chaotic and entertaining. All this confusion and chaos makes the film look like a complete laugh riot. Jimmy Shergill adds to the madness as Pooja’s fierce and intimidating brother, who never misses a chance to threaten Varun. To add to his troubles, Varun and his friend, played by Maniesh Paul, are desperately running around trying to make sure Mrunal and Pooja never cross paths. It is double trouble for Varun at every turn, but for the audience, it promises pure entertainment. The trailer also gives a fun glimpse of Mouni Roy, who plays Varun’s quirky fake mother.
Why was the ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ trailer launch cancelled
The trailer was originally scheduled to launch on May 21, but the event was suddenly called off, leaving many wondering what went wrong. While the team officially blamed a technical glitch for the last-minute cancellation, reports suggested there was more to the story. It emerged that producer Vashu Bhagnani‘s Pooja Entertainment had taken Tips Music to court, alleging that the music label had recreated the iconic song ‘Chunari Chunari’ for ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ without seeking permission. The song originally featured in ‘Biwi No.1’, a film produced by Pooja Entertainment, making it a matter close to their heart.
‘Chunari Chunari’ plays in the ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ trailer
Amid the ongoing legal dispute between Pooja Entertainment and Tips Music, the recreated version of ‘Chunari Chunari’ can still be heard playing in the background of the trailer, which makes the whole situation even more surprising.
Tips Music and Vashu Bhagnani clash over ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ music rights
Tips Music posted on Instagram saying they are the “lawful owner” of the music rights, but Vashu Bhagnani did not agree. His legal spokesperson spoke to Hindustan Times and said, “The entire music rights, songs, and films mentioned in the plaintiff’s suit are covered under the “status quo” order. Therefore, at this stage, the question of whether they are the lawful owners or whether their agreements are valid and subsisting does not arise. Everything is now subject to the status quo as directed by the Hon’ble Court. Certainly, all actors, director David Dhawan, producers, technicians, and every other person involved in the matter will have to appear before the Court and submit their reply; otherwise, they may be liable to face contempt of court proceedings.”
