Amaal Mallik accuses Tanishk Bagchi of stealing 'Saiyaara' song after Rs 8 lakh royalty claim, makes 'Me too' allegation: 'Should I mention what you have done to female singers? Me three ho jayega'

Music composer Amaal Mallik has launched a scathing attack on composer-singer Tanishk Bagchi accusing him of copying music, taking credit for others’ work and mistreating female singers. This comes after Bagchi accused YRF for not clearing his dues after ‘Saiyaara’. Although Amaal did not mention Bagchi by name in his posts, he repeatedly referred to him as “Mr Remix & Destroyer of Originals” and later shared Bagchi’s photograph while calling him the “Zazooo of the music industry,” alleging that he has been “destroying lives. The social media outburst came shortly after Bagchi claimed he had not received the remaining royalty payments for the song Saiyaara. Referring to the controversy, Amaal accused him of relying on paid publicity while presenting a different face in private than in public. In one of his X posts, Amaal wrote, “Dear Mr Remix & Destroyer of Originals…10 years too late but I will show the world your aukaad (stature) 🙂 You don’t deserve my mention also after all that has gone down, so please mera 2017-18 ka photos leke articles likhwana bandh kar (please stop publishing articles using my 2017–2018 photos).”He continued, “Lala Paid PR ka paisa tum label se kama chuke ho, but kharach galat jagah kar rahe ho. Phir mujhe har saal call karke, ya mere manager @mourjo ke saamne mera bhai banne ka dhong kyu karta hai re tu (Brother, you’ve earned plenty of money from the label through paid PR, but you’re spending it in all the wrong places. So why do you still pretend to be my brother every year—either on phone calls or in front of my manager)? Such unmanly behaviour man Sheesh ! (sic)”Amaal also alleged that Bagchi secured Saiyaara by taking someone else’s composition. Referring to the film, he wrote, “If I speak up about how you bagged the film #Saiyaara, and stole the song right under Faheem Abdullah & Arsalan Nizami’s nose to make Mohit Suri take you in the film, then you will know (sic).”The composer went on to make serious allegations regarding Bagchi’s alleged behaviour toward female singers and referenced a social media post that he claimed was removed after filmmaker Mohit Suri intervened. He wrote, “Should I mention what you have done to female singers and their lives, Me too nahi, Me Three ho jaayega tujh par (It will not merely be a MeToo situation for you; it will escalate to MeThree) (sic).”Amaal further questioned Bagchi’s recent stand on royalty payments, claiming that he had previously approached him for work because of financial difficulties. He alleged that despite being advised against relying on recreated versions of songs such as Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Masakali, Bagchi continued doing remakes to earn quick money. Defending Yash Raj Films, Amaal described the studio as a professional production house that follows legal processes and alleged that Mohit Suri had stepped in to ensure Bagchi’s “petty post” against the banner was taken down.Continuing his criticism, Amaal accused Bagchi of copying Pakistani songs and other musicians’ work, while questioning why he was now targeting YRF despite the studio turning his “copied song #Saiyaara” into what he described as a global anthem. He further alleged that Saiyaara had been lifted from Humnawa Mere, adding that singer Jubin Nautiyal and composer Rocky Khanna chose not to respond out of respect, particularly because Nautiyal had sung Barbaad for the film and had previously collaborated on Raataan Lambiyan.Amaal also alleged that Bagchi frequently speaks negatively about Bhushan Kumar and T-Series. His latest remarks come amid his recent claims that paid PR campaigns have been orchestrated against him and against the recreated version of Yeh Awarapan, which he has composed for Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film Awarapan 2.At the time of writing, Tanishk Bagchi has not publicly responded to Amaal Mallik’s latest allegations.
