Nirjala Ekadashi is one of the most significant Ekadashi’s. This day holds an immense religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. The day is considered as the most sacred day, which is dedicated to lord Vishnu. On this particular day, devotees offer their sincere prayers to Lord Vishnu with deep devotion and purity. Nirjala Ekadashi is considered highly auspicious that falls during Shukla Paksha in the month of Jyeshta according to Hindu calendar.Devotees stay away from food and they don’t even consume water on this specific day that’s why it is known as Nirjala Ekadashi. They can eat food and consume water only after completing the puja rituals during parana time on dwadashi tithi. As we all know that this Ekadashi occurs during summer time so people with certain health conditions should not observe this fast because they may get affected from dehydration. 1. Devotees should get up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting puja rituals.2. Clean your home specially puja room. 3. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Vishnu along with Shree Yantra, a symbol of Goddess Lakshmi.4. Light a diya with desi ghee, put chandan tilak, offer yellow flowers, offer Tulsi Patra and offer panchamrit.5. Worship Lord Vishnu by performing various other religious and spiritual activities. 5. On this day, people donate food and clothes to needy ones and brahmins.6. People organize water stalls and food stalls, which is considered meritorious.5. People spend their day chanting this mantra – “Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye”7. Nirjala Ekadashi fast is broken on Dwadashi Tithi (next day). After offerings prayers to Lord Vishnu during parana time, people can break their fast and have water and food.
